In 2008, the media announced the economical crisis, and the sign of the end of capitalism.
In 2010, smartphones became popular. People no longer had the patience to go home to have the Internet, and became addicted, sometimes a tragic way, to a useless, inhumane, cold technology.
This is it : capitalism is not dead, it has evolved into technologism. But this time, there is good news : technologism lets good people live in peace.
What is technologism ?
From what we can see now, let us give some characteristics of this system :
In 2010, smartphones became popular. People no longer had the patience to go home to have the Internet, and became addicted, sometimes a tragic way, to a useless, inhumane, cold technology.
This is it : capitalism is not dead, it has evolved into technologism. But this time, there is good news : technologism lets good people live in peace.
What is technologism ?
From what we can see now, let us give some characteristics of this system :
- Knowledge, instead of money, is the new source of power ;
- The Big Data, instead of the Capital, is the new dominating mind ;
- Speed, instead of money, is the new trap for selfish people ;
- Good sense, instead of love, is the new virtue of selfless people ;
- Technologism has two faces : eco-technologism, or country-technologism, based on technological autonomy, and ego-technologism, or urban-technologism, based on technological slavery.
On one side, the people of the land, living in autonomy. On the other side, the people of the city, living in slavery.
Within capitalism, if someone paid you, you could not socially refuse. But within technologism, you always have A RIGHT OF DENIAL.
What does it mean ?
Let's take a simple example. Imagine you are surfing in the European web. You may run into something like this :
This Internet page is a sorter. The shepherd (the master), sorts, on one side, the sheep (the slaves who say YES), and on the other side, the wolves (the free humans who say NO). This is the right of denial.
Looking for efficiency, the shepherd will ignore the wolves, too wild, and focus on the easy preys, in other words, the sheep.
In my opinion, offline life is a treasure, because this is the only place where you can have a private life. Sometimes we'd better give up the screens and open a book, go to a pub and talk to a real person. This is today's wisdom.
The pub may be watched, but the human heat you will find there opens freer, warmer paths, with the ability to touch somebody, to eat something together, and get an intense pleasure of real social relationship.
Capitalism is shifting to technologism. Hopefully, there is good news with it :
WE HAVE A RIGHT OF LOVE AND FREEDOM.
